Maaskant Building

The Maaskant building is an industrial monument designed by the Rotterdam architect Hugh Maaskant. The building is representative of the pragmatic progressive architecture of the fifties and sixties in the 20th century.

For decades the building accommodated the ship-broker's firm PROGRESS and the railway track and porter’s lodge are characteristic elements that are still intact. Since the renovation of the building it has been given a new name: De Nieuwe Maaskant.
