Y.H. Attema, MSc (Ype)
continued to work at Svašek Hydraulics in March 2015 as a project engineer after his graduation at our office. He graduated at Delft University of Technology in 2014 (Fluid Mechanics). Ype is a medior engineer skilled in modelling currents, waves, sediment transport and morphology. Ype is also co-developer of FINEL.
A.J. Bliek, MSc (Bram)
joined the company in 1977 after being graduated at Delft University of Technology (Coastal Engineering) and is the General Manager since 1984. Bram is a recognised senior expert in coastal engineering and hydraulic modelling with more than 40 year experience.
S. Bom, MSc (Sam)
graduated cum laude in 2017 at Delft University of Technology (Fluid Mechanics) and did an internship at Svašek Hydraulics in 2016. Sam joined the Svašek team in December 2017 as a junior project engineer.
M.J.G. van den Boomgaard, MSc (Marloes)
graduated in 2003 at Delft University of Technology (Fluid Mechanics) and is a project engineer at Svašek Hydraulics since same year. Marloes is senior modelling expert for wave and current simulations.
B.J.O. Eikema, MSc (Bernard)
graduated in 1996 at Delft University (Coastal Engineering) and joined Svašek in the same year as a project engineer. Bernard is a senior hydraulic engineering expert with specific experience in wave modelling inside harbours and hydraulic design.
B. Geerdes, (Barbara)
joined Svašek Hydraulics in 2003 at the position of office manager.
J. Kroon, MSc (Anna)
continued to work at Svašek Hydraulics in October 2009 as a project engineer after her graduation at our office. She graduated at Delft University of Technology on the implementation of a wetting and drying algorithm in a finite element model. Since September 2016 Anna is also a part-time PhD candidate at Delft University of Technology on the topic of improving long term predictions of coastal nourishments. Anna is a senior modelling expert for wave, current and morphological simulations.
B.A.J. Les, MSc (Bastiaan)
started in 1996 as a project engineer at Svašek Hydraulics and graduated at Delft University of Technology in 1997 (Fluid Mechanics). Bastiaan is a senior expert skilled in wave, current and morphological simulations, meteo forecasts as well as detailed surveys.
B. van Leeuwen, MSc (Bas)
Joined Svašek Hydraulics in February 2008, following his graduation at the University of Twente (Civil Engineering and Management). Bas is a senior modelling expert for wave, current and morphological simulations. Bas is also co-developer of FINEL. As of October2020, Bas has been appointed deputy director at Svašek Hydraulics.
T.S. Pak, MSc (Tom)
graduated in 2019 at Delft University of Technology (river and coastal engineering) and started at Svašek Hydraulics in June 2019 as a junior project engineer. His MSc-Thesis was focused on the interaction between aeolian and marine sediment transport at the Hondsbossche Dunes.
S.E. Poortman, MSc (Sanne)
continued to work at Svašek Hydraulics in May 2011 as a project engineer after her graduation at our office. She graduated at Delft University of Technology in 2011 (Fluid Mechanics). Sanne is a medior modelling expert for wave, current and morphological simulations.
L. Spaans, MSc (Lennard)
Graduated in 2019 at Delft University of Technology (coastal engineering) and started at Svašek Hydraulics in September that same year as a junior project engineer. His MSc-Thesis was focused on the morphodynamics of intertidal sandbars and its simulation in XBeach.
Y.B. Steenman, MSc (Yannick)
Yannick graduated from the Delft University of Technology in November 2020 (Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Coastal Engineering). After finishing his Msc-Thesis about the numerical modelling of 2DH and 3D shallow jets in collaboration with Svašek Hydraulics, he continued to work at Svašek Hydraulics as project engineer. Yannick is experienced in hydrodynamics, with a focus on numerical modelling.
H. Talstra, MSc, PhD (Harmen)
has started at Svašek Hydraulics as a project engineer in October 2007. He graduated at Delft University of Technology in 2003 (Fluid Mechanics). In 2011 he defended his PhD work, titled Large-scale turbulence structures in shallow separating flows, successfully. Harmen is a senior fluid mechanics expert. Harmen is also developer of FINEL and HARES and several other numerical flow models.
F.P. de Wit, MSc, PhD (Floris)
In 2016 Floris graduated his MSc study Hydraulic Engineering at Delft University of Technology. In 2022, at the same University, he successfully defended his PhD, titled “Wave shape prediction in complex coastal systems”. This work focussed on measuring, predicting, and modelling the nonlinear wave shape in complex coastal systems with the eventual goal to improve wave-induced sediment transport. During this period, he has also been involved in the further development of the wave models SWAN and SWASH. In April 2021, Floris started working at Svašek Hydraulics. His work expertise is primarily on a broad range of wave and coastal related topics.
